Cleverbot holds thousands of conversations daily. These Terms and Conditions, and your good conduct in using the service, help to make that possible. We want you to know your rights and our rights and so we have prepared this agreement ("user agreement" or "agreement") between Cleverbot ("we", "our," "us") and you.
THE LEGAL STUFF

This agreement sets the terms of your use of the Cleverbot website and services ("Cleverbot") that include conversations, snips, tweaks, Cleverbot apps, and Cleverbot.com. This agreement is intended to encourage a fair, tolerant and enjoyable place for conversation, and communication of ideas and thoughts. We additionally operate Evie at Existor.com, to which these Terms and Conditions also apply.

Without advance notice and at any time, we may, for violations of this agreement or for any other reason we choose: (1) suspend or block your access to Cleverbot, (2) suspend or terminate Your Account and/or (3) remove any of your user content from Cleverbot.

We reserve the right to monitor Cleverbot, and your use of the service means you agree to such monitoring. We do not, however, guarantee that we will monitor at all.

Cleverbot is designed and supported for personal use only. You may not use Cleverbot to break the law, violate an individual's privacy, or infringe any person or entity's intellectual property or any other proprietary rights. You may not use Cleverbot to conduct transactions for any illegal goods or services. You may not use Cleverbot to promote your or other sites or services.

Cleverbot is intended to be a place for your entertainment. We are not responsible for any decisions you make based on something you read on Cleverbot. Cleverbot consists of user-generated content - it learns from people, and people post 'snips' and 'replies'. Things 'said' by Cleverbot in conversation may seem appropriate or inappropriate, but cannot be said to contain any form or intention or real meaning. Use the service with discretion, and at YOUR OWN RISK.
ACCOUNTS

To gain access to some parts of Cleverbot.com, you must create an account that includes an username, email address and password ("Your Account"). Of course, you can also use Cleverbot without signing in.

You are solely responsible for the information associated with Your Account and anything that happens related to Your Account.

You may not license, transfer, sell, or assign Your Account without our written approval.
CONTENT

Cleverbot comprises text, graphics, photographs, images, video, audio, software, code, website compilation, website "look and feel" and advertisements supplied by us or our licensors, which we call "Cleverbot Content". Cleverbot Content is protected by intellectual property laws including copyright and other proprietary rights of the United Kingdom and foreign countries.

We grant you the right to access the Cleverbot Content in the manner described in this agreement. You may not otherwise make unauthorized commercial use of, reproduce, prepare derivative works, distribute copies, perform, or publicly display Cleverbot Content, except as permitted by the doctrine of fair use or as authorized in writing by us. You retain the rights to your copyrighted content or information that you submit to Cleverbot ("User Content") except as described below. You may post the text of conversations you have with Cleverbot where you like on the internet, in social media, in print or elsewhere. You may use the site to inspire or 'script' media productions. You may create and post videos of your conversations in progress. Please always credit Cleverbot.

By submitting User Content to Cleverbot, you grant us a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, unrestricted, worldwide license to reproduce, prepare derivative works, distribute copies, perform, or publicly display your User Content in any medium and for any purpose, including commercial purposes, and to authorize others to do so.

You agree that you have the right to submit anything you post, and that your User Content does not violate the copyright, trademark, trade secret or any other personal or proprietary right of any other party.

You agree to Cleverbot's Privacy Policy. Please review the policy also for an explanation of how we may use or share information submitted by you or collected from you.

We take no responsibility for, we do not expressly or implicitly endorse, and we do not assume any liability for any User Content submitted by you to Cleverbot.
PARTICIPATION

The following are terms for your participation on Cleverbot, intended to keep people safe, protect kids, keep Cleverbot running, and to encourage personal responsibility for what you do on cleverbot. You agree to:
- Keep everyone safe: you will not intentionally jeopardize the health and safety of others or yourself.
- Keep personal information off Cleverbot: you will not post information that relates to any person's real world or online identity.
- Never incite harm: you will not to encourage harm against people or property.
- Protect kids: you will not post pornographic images of any kind, and will not post any sexually suggestive content involving minors.
- Take personal responsibility: as you use Cleverbot, remember that your speech may have consequences and could lead to criminal and civil liability.

You may not post any graphics, text, photographs, images, video, audio or other material that we deem to be offensive, junk or spam. Cluttering Cleverbot with poor content reduces the quality of the Cleverbot experience for others.

You may not purposefully negate any user's actions to delete or edit their content on Cleverbot. This is intended to respect the privacy of Cleverbot users who delete or edit their content, and is not intended to abridge the fair use or the expressive rights shared by us all.

You agree not to interrupt the serving of Cleverbot, introduce malicious code onto Cleverbot, make it difficult for anyone else to use Cleverbot due to your actions, attempt to manipulate data or Cleverbot's systems, or assist anyone in misusing Cleverbot in any way. It takes a lot of work to maintain Cleverbot. Be cool.

Unless by commercial agreement in advance, you agree to access Cleverbot's service and servers in only the following two ways: (1) directly as an individual using the website cleverbot.com in a web browser application or (2) via smartphone apps that we provide, including Cleverbot, Cleverbot HD, Clevertweet, Clevermessage and Bot or Not. You will not attempt to or actually access Cleverbot in any other way. You will not access our internal APIs, or download or use any software that purports to offer a Cleverbot API or connection.

Although we welcome users from all walks of life, Cleverbot is not aimed at children. Individuals under the age of 13 may not create an account with us. If you believe someone 12 or younger is using our site without parental consent, please contact us.
